Around 1 hour 6 minutes to beat again. This time I used the legit Stage Select option in the Menu. Debated if I would consider it legit but it is in the main menu and accessed by just pressing Start. Its not super clear that its available but it does show the stage number on the Main Menu which indicates that it can be toggled. Pretty good follow up to the NES games but can get jenky when trying to get back up. Very easy to get juggled. The also decided to go heavy on the worst part of those old games, the platforming, but with the same bad platforming controls.
