Double Troops & Half Unit Scale & Cinematic Camera Mods - Medieval Kingdom Wars 4k Ultra Wide
Something I did a while back and revisiting now. Before I just made the unit scale (size/height) smaller, which did make them look better in my opinion. Making their size more realistic to the environment instead of being as tall as a building.
The only problem was when I did this back then, I didn't know how to change the amount of units. This made the battalions look weird and too spaced out from each other.
So this time around I figure out how to change that. Half the unit scale/height and double the amount of troops, so that it takes up the same foot print. Hunters and Miltia get a bit of a buff, increased size to the max 100. All other footmen and bowmen capped at 80. Cav went from 24 to 48.
Seems there is a hard limit of 100 for soldiers and 50 for cav. I'm not sure how to change that, but for now the new limits seem to be good.
This was a skirmish battle to test out FPS. Seems to be not too much impact. I think 10 frames less at some points than without double troops.
This was ran with almost max settings, I think unit detail and draw distance set to medium, I played with that to see if it made any difference fps wise. Native resolution for my rig is 3440x1440p, I used DSR while playing this to make it 6880x2880, anti aliasing turned off.
