DQH1 Done Quickly 999: Credits + Final Time (07:30:59)
And our final time is roughly 7 and half hours. Barring a New Game+ speedrun, I don't really feel this game is worth speedrunning. Like finding an optimal route for each stage isn't hard; but actually getting things to line up perfectly is soo hard and is so inconsistent because of enemy and allied AI. There's only so much *you* can do and it's all up to: enemies not being dicks; and allies not being braindead. While the sequel doesn't completely lose all the RNG, that game is much more manageable overall (for example, while allied AI still isn't *great* in that game, it's still better than in DQH1. If you add two healers to your party, you can survive most stages).
In conclusion: please don't speedrun Dragon Quest Heroes 1 (at least, not on a New Game file). It's not very fun and it almost has certainly killed what little interest I had in this game. If you want to do a NG, Any% run I'd strongly suggest Dragon Quest Heroes 2. There's still a lot of RNG, but a lot of it is controlled and there are so many ways to minimize it. Either do that or a NG+ run (aka Flying Start run) for DQH1 instead. There's already one NG+ speedrun for this game on YouTube so it's not unheard of.
