I got the chance to see Draco, the monster bush plane at the AOPA fly-in at KLVK. I also met Mike Patey, the builder & pilot. He's an absolute class act, and an awesome ambassador for aviation as a whole.

Taking off in less than 50ft is no problem for this thing. Mike had it rocketing up at close to 4000ft/min after every run too. When I was talking with Mike, he mentioned that this is actually the first event he's been to with the new trailing-link gear assembly he designed. Instead of the old leaky oil shocks that were original on the wilga, he's now using baja truck racing shocks that are adjustable from in the cabin in flight using the compressed air system.

Edit: Big F in chat for this airframe. Looking forward to see the rebuilt Draco rise like a Phoenix!
