Once you get the hang of the orange power-up it gets easier - you can spin the joystick to make your dragon friend curl around you to make you MOSTLY invincible every few seconds

Stage 5 is the gatekeeper. The first section is easy once you learn a route through the flying islands. But the middle section is ROUGH. The black amoeba enemies latch on to you, slow you down, and are hard to kill off unless you have the orange power-up. I did a lot of savestate-practice and routing, and I still I lost at least 8 1cc attempts on stage 5.

Stage 6 can be rough too. The level design is really troll-y: You want the orange power-up for the last section, where the amoebas make another appearance, but there's a narrow passage you have to squeeze through, that features a power-up carrier with the WRONG DRAGON POWER-UP. So the trick is to find a route to avoid a power-up!
