This game its rather hard to hunt Liquid Metal Slimes than compared to other/later entries to the series. I believe it is far easier and more effective to just continually kill Stone Guardians during Muddy Hand encounters. As long as you leave around 2-3 Muddy Hands you will always have 2 Stone Guardians on screen.
