Using the Black cup as a exploit, you are able to farm the mini medals if you are missing a few working towards the trophy Chef de Classe de Medailles (Awarded for completing the third page of your album de medailles). It does not matter if you come first or last in the race, either way you will still get the mini medal. At the most 1min 30sec to complete the race and 5000 coins to enter I found it the easiest way to top up the mini medal collection.

Firstly you will need to have the Black Cup Horse Race mini game unlocked this happens sometime in Post Game, just before the true final boss, a character will mention a trial in Zwaardust, this will unlock the previously sealed underground room near the Warrior's Inn.

Heading into this area, you will find yourself in Trial Isle. It is here where you will unlock Trials and once you complete a trial, you will get wishes. You need to select the wish BEST HORSE RACE and then head over to Gallopolis, speak with the sultan and unlock the race.

You can run the race as many times as you like depending in how many medals you require.
