What should just be a very interesting curiosity in gaming history ended up also being infamous for different reasons altogether. But hey, we're still talking about it today.

First thing's first: The game is very neat. A lot of 2600 games were thrown together with two paddles and a ball for no purpose, or just a piss poor attempt to bring something like Donkey Kong home with the quality of a Tiger handheld. There were other truly conceptual games that are worth looking at, and to David Crane's credit (as much crap as I give him), this was a great idea. This may not be much...it's a 6-10 second game where you just shift. That's it. But it's a really awesome attempt at taking something from the real world and making a digital equivalent that works as you'd expect. All you're doing is shifting. If you've ever driven a stick, you'll figure this out in a couple runs and then it's down to perfecting it. Which brings me to...

Milly Bitchell's comrade, Rodd Togers. That's how this game is still a hot topic to this day. I guess if bad news is good news, it's a great thing that these cheaters get your attention on games you'd otherwise ignore.

It took me longer to write this than to play and render it, if that tells you anything.
