Drake Officially Announces Joining Jordan Brand Live At Concert (Portland OR)
236So Drake officially announced to the crowd in Portland Oregon that he will be Joining Jordan Brand or "Team Jordan" as you can hear him:
"So today I came to Portland, and I officially became inducted into the Team Jordan Family"
So what does this mean exactly? Is this something Nike is doing because of Kanye West leaving Nike to go to Adidas? Will Drake get his own line of sneakers / apparel in Jordan Brand? Will Drake be designing sneakers? There are many unanswered questions at this point, all we know is he got gifted some insane Jordan 10s and 12s from Jordan Brand today, and they were made for him. I believe he wore these during the concert as well, I couldn't get a close enough shot from my seats, but he definitely wore the Jordan 12s in white at the very least.
Having a celebrity rock a pair of Jordan's before they release is nothing new, so what will separate him from being an official member of Jordan Brand? That will remain to be seen. All we do know is there are many people that are excited to see what stirs up and many people that are skeptical. If this does work out to be a success though, I wonder who else they will bring on board in the future? Eminem has already done some insane collaborations. DJ Skee seems to get some insane care packages currently, it would be cool to see him influence some sneakers. Or perhaps Macklemore, who recently has shown some extra interest in Jordan Brand the other week when his tour made a Portland stop.
