00:00 What were some of your takeaways from playing with Jimmy for the first time?
00:05 DRAYMOND GREEN: A great target. Put the ball in his area, he'd go up and get it. But just what he brings to the floor, both sides of the ball, getting fouled, get to the free throw line, which allows us to set our defense. Having that kind of force that can score the ball, in the paint, very strong, but more importantly than all those things, he's brought just a belief that we can win. And I think that's bigger than anything.
00:43 Do you feel like being a good target is an overlooked skill in this league? It's very overlooked because it limits — if you don't have a good target, it limits the passer tremendously. Like, so it's very overlooked. But he's one of the best.
01:05 Steph basically called them opposite players, him, Jimmy and how that is a good mix because of the different ways they go about it. I mean, what's your perspective on the way those two seem to mix?
01:16 Yeah, no, they're definitely completely opposite players, which is great for us. What Steph doesn't do, Jimmy does all of that and vice-)versa and so — which will allow, ultimately, as we play more together, it'll create a team that can beat you multiple different ways. But not gonna get ahead of ourselves at all. Still gotta come together. But we're excited about it.
01:44 Did you like the small-ball groups that he was a part of?
01:48 It reminds you more of the small-ball groups that we used to have because it was so much size and length. And so, although you don't have a center out there, a proper center out there, when we had that group out there, still so much length and physicality that it doesn't quite appear that way. And it doesn't quite show as if you don't have a center out there. So it was good. It was good for us. Got us back in the game and we were able to keep pushing.
02:17 Steve described, Jimmy's aura is almost like being like a lion. And then in that fourth quarter when they called timeout, you guys were up, you immediately went to chest bump him. Like, you guys had so much energy. Do you feel like a different energy from him?
02:32 100%. And he's happy to be playing, so you got that. But like I said, also then just his force. It's definitely different. We came in, what, we're down 16 at the half or something like that? 14-something. Yeah. And at no point though, was it ever like, ah, body language dropping or anything like that. And that's kind of what you've seen this year. We get down. It's kind of like snake-bitten mentality and it was the total opposite, which is why we came back, no problem.
03:09 You guys have championship swagger. You have it, Steph and Steve, obviously, but like, did you feel a little more swagger tonight?
03:16 One million percent. Absolutely. We got — I wouldn't necessarily say we have championship swagger. We have championship pedigree. The championship swagger is what we're trying to find again.
03:32 Some of the passes that you sent to Jimmy, like, what'd you notice about, like, his hands?
03:35 It's almost like a receiver, like, a contested pass. He told me, he said, if you just throw the ball up near me, I'll go get it. Don't worry about it. It's the last thing you gotta — you don't ever have to tell me again.
