Dr.Dude Pinball on The Pinball Arcade | LET'S PLAY! (PC)
In this video, I will be playing Dr.Dude on The Pinball Arcade for the PC. This iconic pinball table from Bally/MIDWAY was released in 1990 and uses an Alphanumeric Scoring display which was before the DMD (Dot Matrix Display). The era of pinball tables released between the late 1980s and early 1990s used this system for displaying scores and a lot of the tables that were produced around this time happen to be some of my favorite pinball tables of all time, including Dr.Dude.
I have made a previous video on Dr.Dude for VPX (Visual Pinball) but I think it's important to appreciate many of the digital releases of this table, including The Pinball Arcade. I think a lot of people have misconceptions about what TPA was intended to do and that it was meant to be a super-realistic pinball simulator.
I think, however, The Pinball Arcade was targeting casual pinball players who could appreciate nostalgic pinball tables like Dr.Dude and to have fun with them.
