"I restarted for the first time since the release of acnh last fall a month or so before the update, I wanted a new layout because I had flattened my previous island several times.
"This island I wanted to just let inspiration guide me, instead of having a set theme (plus I was in the process of getting the new items and DIYs from 2.0). But ultimately I feel like my island is a small touristy farming town; I live in Kentucky and we have several farms/orchards/pumpkin patches that people can visit and I wanted to kind of have that vibe. But I also could not resist the construction and trash items; so they blended together and in my mind, I see it as an island that used to be a town/city that was abandoned by residents for ‘new horizons’ 😅. This led to how I chose my villagers. I imagine Gonzo and Monty were left over after everyone else moved away(they’re also in love and feel like this island they can be themselves). Marshall and Tipper are besties from the city who thought it’d be “cute” to live in a small town and actually brought a lot of publicity to the island (they both seem like they’d love social media). Chelsea and Shino are both pure cottagecore girls who moved from the city to the island to live alone and focus on reading and gardening and relaxing (not super interested in bringing tourists, which only makes them more mysterious). and then my young babies Poppy, Dom, Biskit, and Stiches. They’re all a little goofy but they really love the island and bringing joy to visitors; the boys are always getting into shenanigans which Poppy thinks are cute but she prefers to watch movies on the beach and sew her own clothes - all their houses have been remodeled!
At the top of the hill that overlooks the farm(back left of the island) is a shed with a Mario pipe- the pipe leads to a bunker. And there are some curious objects outside of the shed that leads you to think the island might not have been so serene before (maybe even a little creepy).
There are spots on the island where you’ll see the villagers haven’t gotten around to making beautiful for tourists yet - the dump behind the mountains and campsite in the desert, the construction area around Monty’s house, Kappn’s beachside mechanic shop, the abandoned boatyards.
"The main part of the island (front and center) is where visitors can shop, go to the museum, going swimming at the beach, get some exercise, play in the park, and see live music at the museum's rooftop venue.
Outside of that area are the peaceful farms and orchards and campsite.
My island representative (Tula - it’s a family nickname and I use it in most games haha) lives on a wheat farm and their house is fully decorated- but in a nostalgic kind of way for me. The first room is very clean and farmhouse chic, there’s a teenager/maybe early 20-year-olds room, a garage/workshop, the upstairs is the main bedroom and artists office/studio, and the basement is a 90s style cluttered suburban basement (old baby stuff, seasonal decor, etc.)
"Also, my island is set in autumn at sunset, to kind of tie in the touristy farm vibe." - Jessica

This island had so much to offer and see. The terraforming was beautifully done and every step had something new to see. Jessica's description really set the stage for her amazing island and I'm thankful she allow me to tour. Be sure to check out pictures on her instagram
