DreamWorks Is Giving Us Something They Hid For Years
DreamWorks Animation (Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, The Bad Guys, etc.) have announced that one of their tools is officially going public. With MoonRay becoming open-source, what does this mean for smaller animators? Is it a good decision from DreamWorks? Who will it help?
DreamWorks is one of the biggest animation studios in the world with a stunning lineup from Madagascar to Shrek to How To Train Your Dragon and more. In movies like The Bad Guys and Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, DreamWorks used the MoonRay renderer to bring their stories to life. Now that it's going open-source, everyday people will be able to use it too!
