Driving A Fraught Train | Trackline Express (Base Building Survival Train Game - Demo)
149Trackline Express looks like it should be a nice train game where you have a lovely journey through the countryside but instead it's a tough relentless survival game where you need to avoid being killed to death by night-time bandits!
We have a go at the daily challenge which means we need to drive our train from the start point to the end point. Sounds simple, right? Well it isn't.
Turns out that the train has no coal so we have to go and mine that before we can do anything else. There are also other things to gather like wood and also coins, which we put into an adorable gigantic piggy-bank on the back of the train. As we go we craft things like tools and buildings.
However when we move the train along the tracks we leave most of the things we've crafted behind and so have to begin again in the next area, where we learn how to craft even more advanced things, like smelters, houses and defensive towers.
But then just as we begin to get on with stuff the night arrives, and the night brings with it bandits determined to destroy our train and kill us a bit! What a nuisance.

Get your tickets to ride the Trackline Express today! Just a small disclaimer: there might be some missing rails sections. And occasional barbarian attacks. Do we really need to mention wildfires? That’s fine, because our trains are the most reliable out there. Nonetheless, you’ll probably have to fix yours with the things you’ll find on your way. But other than that, a perfectly fine ride is waiting for you! (just stay away from the giant scorpions.)
Trackline Express is a train builder where you need to reach the stations while keeping your passenger safe from attacks and wildfires. Gather wood, rocks, ores, coal, and then transform them into various resources to create new buildings and equipment using blueprints that you unlock along the way.
The game is cozy, but can also have some challenging moments, depending on the game mode you choose.
There aren't many resources in the desert, so you’ll have to think about how to use them in the best possible way.
You’ll need to collect enough coins to unlock blueprints in order to build anything. Once a blueprint is unlocked, it’s freely available. Coins are rare around there, so use them wisely.
With enough resources and the right blueprints, you can create multiple buildings and equipment to help you keep going forward and survive. What will you build first? A mine to get the coal for the train? Or maybe a well for your water tank? Unless you choose equipment to defend yourself against an upcoming threat... Each game is different and might require different prioritizations. Adaptation is key.
Attacks are frequent. You’ll have to fight to protect your convoy. Fortunately there are a few items you can use. As more passengers arrive, you’ll have to be more creative with how you use them.
Feed your train with coal, build new wagons and new equipment to defend against, well, basically everything. Try to automate things to keep moving as the game gets harder and harder with time and distance.
