DST Dragonfly Hitless (Least Items Possible)
In this iteration of me returning to DST I do in fact starve (myself of any enjoyment) by killing the same boss repeatedly because the devs apparently nerfed the pan flute method I made years ago while I was checking the game out again.
I tend to like avoiding walls but this is still pretty damn minimalistic and with an element of skill which I enjoy. It seems pretty necessary to do this now due to not being able to cancel pan flute earlier.
Also I should clarify the title I understand that you could technically rng roll the pools if they didn't spawn together but as far as I know this is the lowest amount of items you could do this with consistently every time.
This was spurred on by me wanting to return and do a lot of the new content I hadn't done yet so maybe you'll see more Don't Starve Together videos for a bit, not sure what bosses I should do next.
Here's the things I learned / relearned theorycrafting:
-As per usual we want to pan flute before the last Lavae is spawned so we can kill it manually and avoid the 50/50 race condition bug from Dragonfly where it will either enrage or start spawning another set.
-Recall from my previous Wes video but also known by other players, if you pan flute the Dragonfly his home location will change so you can lure him away from the arena
-Make sure to lure him far away enough from the lava pools near his arena or else he will spawn lavae from them instead, if you aren't confident in your measuring skills then I found using a zoomed in map helps to measure distance.
-I simply ran from the edge pool and counted off 12 seconds if running down a road or 16 seconds if not running on a road.
-Lavae won't path if you're in the range for their lunge even if it's on cooldown and that range is not as big as the hitbox for damage, so if you position yourself nicely behind walls you can get them stuck trying to lunge at you through them
-You can manuever them to the center of the wall by moving to the left and right depending on the angle they're coming at or the amount of Lavae already on the wall, this can take a bit of precision
-The position of the dragonfly when he starts spawning Lavae is pretty important for this part
-This was the best wall orientation I could find, every other orientation results in you taking hits or is just less efficient at keeping them on the wall properly, if you were good at positioning I suppose you could use the wall I used for positioning to instead increase the walls width.
-This is probably possible on the edges of the world as well if you want to make this truly minimalistic but you'd need some good precision and world generation.
-If the dragonfly's attack is cancelled from the pan flute, wait to make sure they can attack so you dodge it properly when you hit and wake them up
