Dubai Watch Week 2021: Genus 1.2 TD Damascene Titanium
106Hi guys, this is Tim from Dubai Watch Week 2021. Today, I inspected the Genus 1.2 TD Damascene Titanium, a new watch from the winners of he 2019 GPHG "Mechanical Exception" prize. The 43mm case is crafted from fired blue "Damascus" titanium that is folded to create the legendary layered effect of historic Damascus steel. The Genus 1.2 displays time on two scrolling displays and a unique "train" of that runs across the dial. Reading of time becomes intuitive after a brief familiarization with the singular display system. On the caseback, the Genus 1.2 includes a manual wind movement with a 50-hour power reserve. All bridges and plates are crafted from 18-karat gold and exquisitely hand finished with traditional anglage, frosting, and black polish. The company builds roughly 20 watches per year and is run by true watch enthusiasts.
