DuckTales (Feb 5, 1989 Prototype) - The Moon (20% Faster) (Extended, 30min)
.wav download (v2): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mkzZkVviw6JQ-MWIRU4YKlNgqEF5ppwE/view (302mb)
Note: The noises that play in the first three seconds were already there in the original NSF, it wasn't an issue when converting.
The Moon theme, from the Feb 5, 1989 prototype, has been extended with an increased speed, to match the final version's tempo.
The Moon theme from both the February and May builds are roughly 20% slower than the Final version. At this point (Feb build), this theme had more instruments, but some of the extra instrumentation was removed on the May build and Final release (most likely due to implementation of new sound effects and cartridge space).
This was achieved using Foobar200's foo_gep plugin (Game Emu Player), setting the Tempo to 120%, and converting to a .wav file.
Comparison's have been made between the 20% faster Feb build music and Final, and they are roughly in the same speed.
The noises that play in the first three seconds were already there, it wasn't an issue when converting.
"I want a longer extended version of this".
At the moment, I don't have plans in uploading a longer extended version. If you want to listen to this song till your heart's content, I recommended downloading foobar2000, the Game Emu Player plugin and the February build NSF.
foobar2000: https://www.foobar2000.org/download
Game Emu Player: https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_gep (double-click to install AFTER you have foobar2000 installed on your PC).
February Prototype's NSF can be found on the TCRF article below.
After installing foo_gep, open foobar2000, go to File... Preferences. Go to Playback... Decoding... Game Emu Player, check "Force all songs to play indefinetely", and check the "NSF" format on the "Supported formats" and press okay. Now, you can open your NSF.
You can double-click the NSF directly from your computer, and select foobar2000 from the program's list. After foobar2000 opens/NSF starts to play, go to View... GEP Control, click on "Enable playback override" and set the Tempo to 120%.
