Duke Nukem Forever Walkthrough Part 10 Endgame
0Continuation of the cult series of first-person shooters, the roots of which date back to the early 90s.
Duke Nukem Forever is another FPS action game from the Duke Nukem series, developed by Gearbox Software (earlier 3D Realms studio worked on the game). The basic rules of the game have not changed much - we are still dealing with a first-person shooter, based primarily on the quick and effective elimination of aliens.
Among the aliens there are both "old friends" (e.g. pigs in uniforms and Octabrains), as well as completely new opponents. There are also powerful bosses in Duke Nukem Forever. However, the fights with them have been varied compared to the original, which is visible, among others, in the spectacular scenes of finishing off powerful opponents. During the adventure, we visit various locations, ranging from cities, through canyons, desert areas, but also industrial areas. We cover some of the locations on our own feet, and sometimes we use different vehicles. There were also sequences in which we have to repel massive attacks of enemies with the help of stationary weapons.
This time, Duke was equipped with an ego gauge instead of the traditional life. It works on the same principle as life, i.e. its drop to zero causes death, but this solution fits our hero perfectly. A tough guy like Duke takes no damage, enemies can only hurt his pride. As with most modern shooters, the ego regenerates automatically in between fights.
Among the arsenal that falls into the hands of the prince, there are several new weapons. So we have pistols, shotguns or machine guns, as well as combat gloves that shoot rockets (Devastator), enemies "reducer" (Shrink Ray) and remotely detonated explosives (Pipe Bombs) known from the first part. Among the new tools of destruction there is a sniper rifle, which allows for very effective combat at a greater distance. As befits a Duke, this weapon has great firepower. Exploding bodies, blown-off limbs and headshots tearing heads off their necks are the norm in this case.
As in the first part from 1996, much attention was paid to interaction with the environment. Nowadays, breaking walls, breaking windows and mirrors is no longer a rarity. Few heroes, however, can draw something on the board with a felt-tip pen or use the urinal.
The developers definitely wanted to get a similar atmosphere to the one for which fans fell in love with Duke several years ago. So we have a lot of crude humor, and the prince's lyrics are dripping with testosterone. Invariably, the main goal of our hero's crusade is to rescue sexy representatives of the fair sex, whom we encounter quite a lot during the adventure. Our hero is also definitely more talkative than in the first part of the game. Duke speaks again with the voice of the sensational Jon St. John, known from Duke Nukem 3D.
