Another great map for Duke Nukem Manhattan Project from professional level designer Vitaliy Bondarenko (Max the Revenger, 3-d visualisations):

This map has amazing atmosphere. There's a big city with Duke feel, and it's pretty impressive to see this huge cityscape. Camerawork and path placement are original and interesting. There's some stunning feel of nonlinearity where we explore the construction site.

Unfortunately, way to progress is pretty cryptic at times. When I got the shotgun, I couldn't find any way to advance, and eventually decided to use the map's nonlinearity to skip that place altogether. So I thought it's either too hard puzzle design, buggy level design or flawed layout design with dead ends that player can't leave.

Turned out, it was my mistake that I didn't consider jumping from the right part of the building as far as I could and that's what I was supposed to do. The distance is enough to get to the next building.

I found the boss fight pretty boring as the only thing I could do was stand there and kick him when he jumped. It was like "Press X to win", but without a stunning cutscene to disguise that and with need to press that "X" way too many times.

But that was my another mistake since I didn't explore the map well enough and came to the boss fight without weapons.

Overall, the map has amazing atmosphere and scale, which make it very enjoyable, a lot of hidden depth to discover is also there, as I only found 2 of 10 nukes, so it looks like I missed a lot of tricks to use here. And the "flaws" that I found turned out to be my own mistakes. I replayed the map later without making them and enjoyed it properly.

And this amazing feeling of wandering on the rooftops and construction sites of huge city, admiring breathtaking cityscape around you, really makes this one of the best maps for Duke Nukem Manhattan Project available, and I recommend everyone who has the game to play it.
