Dune: Awakening, developed by Funcom, is an open world, multiplayer survival game on a massive scale, where base building is a key part of the player’s survival and rise to power on Arrakis, the most dangerous planet in the universe. In today’s new video showcase, learn the various ways Dune: Awakening’s building system lets you claim your piece of the desert, and develop it into a wonder, piece by piece.
Start out by raising a small shelter as protection against the sun and bandits, and as a place to expand your crafting capabilities, even letting you refine blood into drinkable water. Expand your base, explore, build additional bases, and eventually, choose a Great House to align with. Once you have earned a place among the Atreides or the Harkonnen, you can begin to build with their unique architecture, visually inspired by Denis Villeneuve and Legendary’s award-winning blockbuster movies. From imposing and intricate fortresses, you will control the flow of spice.
For Dune: Awakening, Funcom has drawn on many years of experience designing building systems – pushing it to new heights with things like the Blueprint system, letting you copy any build into a Blueprint which can be placed anywhere in an instant, given to other players, or even sold. And with Solido Projections, co-op building has never been easier.
