I review DUNE Spice Wars, and recommend it thoroughly. It combines Real time strategy of Age of Empires, the Higher strategic Thought of Civilisation and the amazing setting of dune in an approachable and easy format.

It's factions are unique, with some slight issues with the Fremen, it's gameplay is enjoyable and easy to learn, and it's late game victory conditions as well as faction characteristics Promote a different playstyle each time.

Coupled with the Random maps and terrain, each playthrough is emergent, creating new stories and reducing the "META" esports attraction that can suck the fun out of RTS games by sheer optimisation. This in turn makes the multiplayer a seamless experience where you don't really mind losing.

Apart from the basic diplomacy, limited Fremen "feel" of the faction and moderate multiplayer wait times, it's a really great game for RTS player's new or old, and heralds back to the day when strategy games were about fun and not competition.

A solid 8/10: Give it a go if you like Civ, Age of empires or dune!
