Very simple.

The controller for the console I was playing this on had bad wires. Also why I have paused my other NES playlists. Sort of.

The D-pad was bad. It would constantly hit the Right or Left or else stick so that pressing it sent the command for longer or for more hits than I hit or pressed. It was particularly bad for Might and Magic III!

It's replaced now; also why you suddenly see a Genesis game on my Channel!
