After the release of MegaBall for the Commodore Amiga in the early 90's, Michael P. Welch developed his own iteration of the Breakout genre with DX-Ball, originally intended to be played as an Amiga game on a Windows PC. When it was released in 1996, the game was a huge success and spawned a direct sequel in 1998, as well as a spin-off in the form of Super DX-Ball Deluxe under his own development studio BlitWise Productions. Unfortunately, due to the modern hardware used with newer computers, the opening scroller would normally stutter on the main title screen, but after a few tweaks with DXWnd, the game has been restored in all its natural glory the way it was meant to be seen nearly three decades later.
