Dying Light is a first-person survival horror video game on PlayStation 4. Dying Light is set in an open-world environment called Harran, also known as the slums. The second part of Dying Light introduces another map, this is called Old Town, also known as sector zero. You can roam freely in both Maps in Dying Light, but be careful because all areas are overrun with flesh-eating zombies. Parkour is a unique mechanic used in Dying light which allows you to perform actions such as climbing ledges, leaping from edges, sliding, jumping between roofs, and zip-lining. A grappling hook allows you to climb up buildings and quickly travel between places. As you explore Dying Light's world, you can scavenge supplies and loot, which can be used to craft new weapons or sold to vendors. You can pick locked loot crates or use "survivor sense" to find nearby loot and supplies. You can also complete various side missions in Dying Light by accepting tasks issued by the NPCs in the game's safe zones.
Dying Light has a day and night cycle. During the day, you can set traps, save random survivors, and make your way to airdrops. During the day in Dying Light infected are slow, apathetic, and easily visible and they can be easily avoided. You can use environmental traps, such as spikes, electrified fences, and gas tanks, to kill the infected. At night, however, in Dying Light the infected transform to become much more dangerous. Without daylight, the senses of the infected become more acute and accurate. They can also sprint after you, inflict more damage, and gain the ability to jump and climb buildings. In order for you to avoid contact, you need to use your "survivor sense" to locate and avoid the infected zombies. If you are spotted, you can use distractions and traps to reduce the number of infected. In Dying light the night is much more dangerous but if you are careful and take your time you can use it to gain more experience than you would during the day.
