Don't expect anything for E3 2022 as the event has been officially canceled. E3 canceled all 2022 events today, but the writing was on the wall when E3 cancelled all in-person events earlier in the year. Why is E3 cancelled? The reason given was Covid-19 difficulties, but the plan seems to be bringing back E3 2023 in style. So when asking Why was E3 2022 cancelled, you could mark it up to just that, but chances are price increases for floor space and reduced interest played a role. E3 2022 may be over, but Geoff Keighley announced that Summer Game Fest is still happening as planned. While the Geoff Keighley E3 post was ambiguous, it does seem like he cares very much about keeping things going. All of this in addition to the Sony rumors, Kojima studio posting and more have fans speculating like crazy again. In addition to the E3 news a Konami acquisition has been rumored by Sony, as Kojima Productions closes after being in an office for 5 years.
