Token burning is when tokens from the circulating supply are permanently sent to a dead wallet, or burned, never to be used again. This is a method used by a number of crypto protocols as a way to decrease token supply and increase the value of each token remaining. So, token burning acts as a deflationary technique, giving investors more value for the tokens they’re holding.
Lunar Flare uses token burning to reduce the supply of their native token, which is the Lunar Flare Group token, or LFG token. But they also burn their liquidity paired tokens to help drive token value further upwards. Token burns occur when investors interact with the smart contract. To increase burning capacity, the Lunar Flare team matches all of the burns that result from user interactions. With this novel mechanism in place, the project team aims to create what they call a Hyper-Deflationary token model.
