EarthBound Part 30 - Mondo Mole & Lilliput Steps
2I'm now ready to defeat Mondo Mole. Besides the Mole Playing Rough, you'll also find Mr. Batties & Mighty Bears along the way. When up against a Mighty Bear, Paula (Cassa/Cassandra) should use her Freeze Beta attack to get rid of it on one shot. Also don't worry about the gift boxes along the way. You can simply get them after defeating Mondo Mole.
When you approach Mondo Mole, Ness (Paul) should use Paralysis immediately. This will protect Paula (Cassa/Cassandra) and she is important for this battle. Also, the Mondo Mole might use PSI Shield. If it does this, you can take the chances of using PSI Thunder with Paula (Cassa/Cassandra) eliminating its shield, or you can use regular attacks. However, Thunder won't always hit an enemy, so trying it get rid of its shield is very hard.
After defeating Mondo Mole, go through the cave and get the second melody.
TIP: Don't forget to take the Great Charm with you. It increases speed by 5 and provides protection from paralysis, even though defense only goes up by one.
