It's hard to describe how the next major earthquake will look like for the city of Los Angeles. Earthquakes can be very scary to some of us. However, the reality is that a major earthquake in Southern California will not be as deadly as one might think. USGS estimates about ~1500 victims in a M7.8 quake generated by the San Andreas fault. The biggest long-term concern is going to be the devastating economic impacts that this region will experience.

I hope that my simulations will inspire people to do more research about how to reduce the impacts of a potential natural disaster. Make sure you have enough water supplies for at least 2 weeks, canned food and talk to your family about an emergency plan and a designated meeting spot in case all communications are out.

I hope my simulations will educate the general public about potential earthquake related hazards and create more curiosity about Earth Science in general. I do also hope that my videos will inspire a future generation of amazing architects, engineers and scientists! We all need to peacefully work together to make this world a better place. :)
