If you get the glitch on the first try you will save ~25s, which obviously this depends what category you go for and how well you actually play in general throughout the stage. You don't need to hit it first try in order to save time, but the faster you get it the more you save. All in all, the amount of time saves can greatly vary. This is however the only "real" use of the glitch where it actually sequence break the stage and save plenty of time. Below are two examples, one with Urgent Ascent and the other without it.
