45[#gifted] EASY DIY ✂️ Let’s make some useful magnetic bookmarks you can use in your planners, journals, manga, and books!
What you need:
🌸 Patterned paper
🌸 Cardstock
🌸 Magnetic sheet or small magnets
🌸 Embellishments to decorate your bookmark
🌸 (optional) Rounded corner punch
✅ Directions:
🌸 Measure and cut strips of your patterned paper. You will be folding the strips in half, so measure based on how long you want your bookmark to be. Repeat the process with the cardstock.
🌸 Fold both the patterned paper and cardstock in half and glue together, layering the patterned paper on top of the cardstock. This is to give the patterned paper some sturdiness. You may have to trim the ends of the bookmark, since layering the thick papers, will cause the cardstock to peek out from under the patterned paper.
🌸 If you want, use a rounded corner punch to round the bottom corners of the bookmark. This step is totally optional!
🌸 Glue or adhere your embellishments to the top front part of the bookmark. Since I’m using stickers, I reinforced them by adhering them to patterned cardstock and cutting them out. I put the patterned side out, so that the backs of the stickers aren’t plain white.
🌸 If you’re using a magnetic sheet, cut pieces to fit the inside of the bookmark. Face the magnetic pieces together (you might have to figure out which side of the magnet repel/attract) and adhere to the lower inside of the bookmark.
Done! There’s a lot of ways you can customize these useful bookmarks to suit your style. You can use different patterned paper and cardstock, like scrapbook paper, origami paper, magazine pages, etc. And you can embellish the top of the bookmark with stickers, charms/cabochons, buttons, or cutouts from your favorite blindboxes.
