EASY GUIDE: How to SAVE the Herbalist in Chapter 3 of A Plague Tale Requiem
5In case you were wondering if there's a way to save the herbalist by the end of chapter 3 in A Plague Tale Requiem, well, I have some good news for you, yes you can. But is it worth it? MMmM probably not. Let me explain. In A Plague Tale Innocence, there are a couple of instances where you had the opportunity to either save or leave behind an NPC and you'd be awarded with a trophy. Pretty Neat, but in A plague Tale requiem this doesn't seem to be the case. So, if advocating for the lives of NPCs in videogames is not enough for you, then... nah, it's not worth your time trying to saving the herbalist. But if you really want to give a shot on saving this poor guy from a totally scripted death, here is how you can do it:
We are going to prepare to run, because as soon as you cross this stone wall the gate will open and the event with the herbalist will trigger. I'm running straight into action until I get to this point right here by the bonfire, then I use the ignifer with a sling on the torch to the left of the door where the guards and the herbalist are coming through. This will grab the attention of both of them, leaving the herbalist alone and, most important of all, in a safe zone without any rats that can kill him. Now, it's just a matter of getting rid of both of the enemies. I use the normal slingshot for the one with no helmet, and the magic dust on the helmet guy to turn off his torch and let the rats do the rest. After that, just look around for either of the two pile of wooden sticks in the area, grab a stick and use it as a torch to get across the remaining rats and voila, the herbalist will ask if you could kindly keep your distance while he buries his face in his hands trembling with fear. And that's it. No trophies, no rewards, just the good feeling of saving an NPCs life.
