basic soldering tips first tin tip then heat pin then dab solder on solder pad & pin but don't over heat pad then clean tip using flux or wet sponge, sandpaper is not recommended cause most solder-iron tips are just plated. when soldering wires twist wires together then use flux on wires to clean it then heat wire then add solder to wires till it soaks into wires but now too much then use electric tape or Rubber Mastic Tape to wrap it.
