In my own base, I've tried my best to do a lot of research and trying things out. Like hiding tailings underground to reduce pollution. But it turns out to be quite a tedious task so I'm not sure I'll finish it. There are tons of stone to dig out so we'll see if I manage to finish the job before I make the big move.

Visiting Max's base was really fun, he has spent much more time on building and mining which can be seen clearly on the progress over there. Lots of cool machines as well :)

When talking about different tiers it basically means the level of material used for the rooms. Hewn Logs and Mortared Stone are Tier 1 materials, and Bricks are tier 2. Concrete is tier 3 and so on. So a tier 2 factory means a base that can use the next level of machinery and is built out of bricks or better.
