Eerie, Indiana | ObscuReviews Ep.10 (Best 90s Horror Kids Show?) | Shotana Studios
Spoiler Free Review
Its the Halloween season, and its only fitting that we talk about an obscure spooky kids show from the early 90s.
Surprisingly I had never heard of this show, and I am sort of pissed that I never enjoyed this as a kid. But screw it. Better late than never, right?
Thank you JET STRANGE in my Stranger Things review for letting me know about this show.
Eerie, Indiana is an American television series that originally aired on NBC from September 15, 1991 to April 12, 1992. The series was created by José Rivera and Karl Schaefer, with Joe Dante serving as creative consultant. This show predates the tv adaption of Goosebumps, but came out after the success of Are You Afraid of the Dark?
The series revolves around Marshall Teller, a teenager whose family moves to the desolate town of Eerie, Indiana, population of 16,661. While moving into his new home, he meets Simon Holmes, one of the few normal people in Eerie. Together, they are faced with bizarre scenarios. The sequel show is called The Other Dimension, but you can avoid that one.
I cannot recommend this show enough. Although I did watch this show here on YT, I am not entirely sure where you can find a full episode let alone the full season now.
Perfect show if you enjoy shows like Gravity Falls. In many ways this is the proto- version of Gravity Falls. Not to mention I really love the opening intro theme to the show.
