Elden Ring Performance Update Patch 1.03
Elden Ring has released a new patch 1.03 : Promising performance upgrades, squashing bugs, adding some new content and NPCs and getting rid of some exploits whether you like it or not!
Well, Elden Ring has been with us for a full 3 weeks and finally we get an update to performance and not just that, but a TON of changes and features and so much to really talk about here. Some of this is for balancing, others are for gamecrushing issues as the players find every possible way to cheese their way through this amazing world filled to the brim with Souls type boss encounters. But, let's get it going and talk about everything introduced in Patch 1.03 for Elden Ring and let me know in the comments what you think about these changes to Elden Ring as well as your experience with the latest patch.
First thing I want to talk about is that the Deathblight Build exploit has been patched which was causing havoc in PvP as players had found a way to build up death ailment and get them stuck in backstabbing, leading to frustrations that reached epic proportions. Patch 1.03 for Elden Ring alleviates this issue, and can no longer be done.
Mimic Tear was a summon in Elden Ring that lets you summon a doppleganger of yourself to fight with you, and since when it was summoned, it was based on the gear you had on during the summon, players were able to put on the best gear, summon it then switch back to other gear allowing the summon to hold the full attention of the boss making fights completely cheesed. Well, no more, Elden Ring 1.03 has fixed that so that now the damage is reduced by almost 50%, but players are reporting that the summon now behaves "smarter" so it balances out.
Also, Hoarfrost Stomp was being used to crowd control in ways that was making farming extremely easier as well as considering the detrimental damage it was doing to the PvP scene, much more than the devs had planned, so it got nerfed down to essentially half damage.
As many have pointed out, even with these changes, in a game like Elden Ring, players will now try to find new ways to cheese or exploit something else, and so it goes with a highly competitive and difficult game, I mean, can you blame anybody for trying?
Some great news is that Smithing Stones have been adjusted, so that they drop more frequently and available in some new shops.
Also shields and some sorceries have been buffed, so not everything has been nerfed at least!
Now let's run through the full patch notes so you can be aware of ALL the things that come with the new patch! Enjoy!
