The Sega Genesis had some pretty innovative shoot 'em ups on the system, and Eliminate Down is something I'd consider a hidden gem.

Hidden, in the sense I'd never heard of this before, the game is very much based on the standard horizontal shooter template, but the graphics, presentation and overall technical implementation are exemplary. The general aesthetic of the enemies and level design is super cool, and rather creepy - I don't think I've ever played anything quite like this.

The fact the game includes built-in autofire makes this an absolute pleasure to play.
