Emile Marcelin ténor (59.Roubaix, 1885 – janvier 1947). Débute à l’Opéra-Comique dans Werther (Werther) le 06 mai 1912. A créé Graziella (le Poète). A chanté la Navarraise (Araquil), Carmen (don José), Cavalleria rusticana (Torrido), le Chemineau (Toinet), les Contes d’Hoffmann (Hoffmann), le Hulla (Narsès), le Jongleur de Notre-Dame (Jean), la Lépreuse (Ervoanik), Lakmé (Gérald), Julien (Julien), Madame Butterfly (Pinkerton), Manon (Des Grieux), Mignon (Wilhelm Meister), Mireille (Vincent), Paillasse (Canio), le Roi d’Ys (Mylio), Thérèse (Armand), la Tosca (Mario Cavaradossi), la Traviata (Rodolphe), la Bohème (Rodolphe).

Emile Marcelin (Tenor) (Roubaix 1885 - Roubaix 1947)
In 1908 he took part in the song competition for amateur singers in France. Since 1912 he was a member of the Opéra-Comique, Paris, where he appeared till 1930. He debuted there in his star role – Werther. On 9. 1. 1919 he sang at the Opéra-Comique the role of Werther in the 500-th performance of Massenet’s opera. His career stretched till the end of the 1930’s with appearances in French and Belgian stages and at the concert hall. Later he was a pedagogue and professor of the Roubaix Conservatory.
