It's time for new discoveries on the Wastelands map
Upon getting Borealis' samples, the scientists ran into a problem. They needed powerful equipment to study them. The Laboratory would do nicely, but going through the front door would be a suicide mission.
Citizen K knows that there's a network of underground tunnels underneath the Laboratory, which lead to the surface in various parts of the Wastelands. He suggests you get inside through one of them.
The first group led by Albert, Citizen K's right-hand man, is going on an expedition on a small island that was once used for waste storage and disposal. Meanwhile, you and Chris are supposed to set up a mobile research center at the Port.
Right after the entrance was opened, you lost connection with Albert. All you can do is jump into your motorboat and set off in search of the missing people.
It would be extremely dangerous to venture to the new region without special armor. It's up to you to find out what happened there.
Zombies that have spent a considerable amount of time in those locations have undergone changes, and it's become significantly harder to defeat them with regular firearms.
As luck would have it, the second group of researchers along with Chris have fatefully stayed at the Port. Upon examining the situation, they've developed two sets of armor that protect their wearer from spores, depending on the threat level.
New weapons that are effective against the local zombies have been added to the arsenal:
Anti-Spore Pistol,
Anti-Spore Rifle
Anti-Spore Sniper Rifle
Spore Destroyer
Dissolver, adapted for combatting spores
In addition to new dangers, the new locations have also granted you resources that will help you deal with the spore threat:
Quartz. Great for making lenses.
Halite
Titanium Ore
Put your pickaxes away, you'll need a drill to mine these! The blueprint for crafting the tool has become much simpler. Resources obtained with it will be used in new blueprints.
lhe Chemistry Station will become a great help in preparing to traverse the Islands. Don't even think about going there without a sporicide and a spore blocker. Building the station itself has become easier as well.
You can use algae to craft iodine, another important component in the new region. We're sure you'll figure the rest out. Make sure to keep track of your health. Otherwise, things might turn ugly. Try to ask Albert about it when you meet him.
With the understanding of all the risks involved, the Genesis Collection was supplied with lots of new items that will help you survive and complete tasks more efficiently or just adorn your base.
