ENFP Struggles | Tips from Tracer! Let's get to it already!
ENFPs! Here's how to stop blinking around from one priority to another (when you want to).
This video explains the cognitive function stack and one way of interpreting the growth of the fun and exciting ENFP Overwatch character, Tracer. I talk about her struggles with being disassociated from time and how that metaphorically relates to her dominant function of extraverted iNtuition. I also talk about how Blink relates to it too! Recall can be attached to extraverted Thinking - her defensive maneuver (tertiary function) used to keep her attached to the extraverted attitude. And most importantly, she gets grounded and the ability to control her time, priorities, and life in general through the chronal accelerator (thanks to Winston, INTP!) I hope it helps!
Lena Oxton (call sign: "Tracer") was the youngest person (wide-eyed and hopeful) ever inducted into Overwatch's experimental (Ne) flight program. Known for her fearless (Pe - exploration and pushing things to get more excitement and information) piloting skills, she was handpicked to test the prototype of a teleporting (Ne - bouncing from one idea to another) fighter, the Slipstream. But during its first flight, the aircraft's teleportation matrix malfunctioned, and it disappeared (not every idea connects… not like it was her choice though). Lena was presumed dead.
She reappeared months later, but her ordeal had greatly changed her: her molecules had been desynchronized from the flow of time (N - future-focused, S past and present). Suffering from "chronal disassociation," she was a living ghost, disappearing for hours and days at a time (story time about locking yourself away, getting physical pains Si). Even for the brief moments she was present, she was unable to maintain physical form (the day-dreams!). Sometimes she had strange dreams about the past, including being a kitchen maid at a large house in the country (How do we know it was past? Real past? F7 imagine yourself in different contexts).
Overwatch's doctors and scientists were stumped, and Tracer's case seemed hopeless until a scientist named Winston (INTP) designed the chronal accelerator, a device capable of keeping Tracer anchored in the present (connection to Fi and Si). In addition, it gave Tracer the ability to control her own time (Focused Judging - connection to priorities and self, who can supply them with stable reference points and a basic routine, eventually inferior Si, Without self-reflection… they “coast” on their Intuition, and life seems to have no lasting meaning for them. inward Judgement to take personal limitations - of time, energy, resources, ability, even desire - into account.), allowing her to speed it up and slow it down at will (not compulsive and over-focused on. Also tied to rational *J* functions). With her newfound skills, she became one of Overwatch's most effective agents (dat growth tho).
