Entire Life of Wednesday Addams - Explored - A Journey From Addams Mansion to Monster Hunter
Since her first appearance in Charles Addams' macabre New Yorker cartoons in the 1930s, the character of Wednesday Addams has really come a far way, growing from a quiet, morbid doodle into a full- blown gothic icon. Originally nameless, she was not christened Wednesday until the 1964 Addams Family TV show and was named after the nursery rhyme line, “Wednesday’s child is full of woe.” And boy, did the character embrace it with her pale- faced, double braided, dark aura along with a wit sharper than her guillotine collection. It is safe to say that right from the beginning, Wednesday became the poster child for the delightfully grim and deadpan.
