Epilogue - Sword Art Online; Hollow Realization, Abyss of the Shrine Maiden Ending
This is the ending of the Abyss of the Shrine Maiden DLC for Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization.
This takes place some time after the final raid. With the group having a picnic in the hills, Tia and Premiere show up to join them.
And thats its for the main story of Abyss of the Shrine Maiden. There is a post game after this that opens up a new dungeon, but I feel satisfied ending it here. Id like to thank anyone who watched any of the videos in this series. Thank you very much for watching.
I will be continuing my march through the Sword Art games, as Ill be doing Fatal Bullet sometime in the future.
Some personal notes and thoughts now that its over:
Tia, while being a pretty cool character, does not appear in the next game, Fatal Bullet. Sure do wish she did though. But with the Kirito group getting less play in Fatal Bullet, it feels like she would have been wasted anyways. Premiere does carry over to Fatal Bullet though.
As for the game itself. I actually came away from the main game pretty lukewarm, it was fine. Warriors of the Sky DLC was alright. I disliked Abyss of the Shrine Maiden. While it did a fine job of wrapping up Tia and her story, everything else was a drag. The story was the only thing I even liked.
I disliked the platforming, I disliked all the platforming in this game.
And getting the fusion skills was just a boring grind. Do fusion skills make you super strong? Yes. Are they a mindless grind? Yes. I especially did not appreciate the fusion skills showing up in weapon skill trees I never bothered to train. Same with Enigma Order's. All the new systems felt like such a grind.
The quest markers just never really helped till the very last area of the DLC. I was lost for so much of it.
Whoever thought the invisible enemies was a good idea is a fool.
The game being padded out, and everything needing extra steps, became very noticeable the closer I got to the end.
The DLC felt like one huge grind and a slog to get through. While I am happy I got through to the end, I seriously wish it would have been shorter.
