Erzetich has announced the launch of its new Charybdis headphones that promises a “mature sound that puts the emphasis on music”.
Erzetich's Charybdis open-backed planar-magnetic headphones will “help music lovers and musicians to ride the waves of clarity and superior sound”, according to the Slovenian brand.
Charybdis boasts “cutting edge” 43-ohm planar-magnetic drivers, which should allow music lovers to savour every note and nuance of their favourite music. Additionally, thick earpads crafted from velour or protein leather provide comfort during even the longest listening session.
Made in the EU, the Charybdis headphones are manufactured to the highest specifications and differ from Erzetich's previous offerings by using CNC-milled aluminium cups instead of wooden units. This, says Erzetich, provides “for a firm driver grip”.
Weighing in at 740 g, Erzetich counters the extra weight (50 g more than Phobos) by giving Charybdis a wider, softer, ventilated headband to distribute the weight evenly and ensure comfort. In addition, the outer 'tiara' is made of carbon fibre.
The headphones are entirely serviceable and come with a generous two-year limited warranty along with a 4-pin XLR-terminated cable and a 6.35mm jack adapter.
the Charybdis headphones will meet their match in the Scylla amplifier, specifically designed to complement these headphones.
The Erzetich Charybdis headphones are available now, priced at €3,000.
