Estelon's Aura loudspeakers are a three-way passive sealed box design that has been created with consideration of real-life listening spaces.
The new Aura floorstanders from Estelon have been designed by Alfred Vassilkov and promise an immersive and captivating audio experience like no other speaker of this size.
The new Aura floorstanders from Estelon have been designed by Alfred Vassilkov and promise an immersive and captivating audio experience like no other speaker of this size.
Thanks to meticulous attention to detail and cutting-edge technology, the Aura not only looks like a unique piece of art due to its distinctive shape, the technically sophisticated design and advanced surface geometry result in characteristics that allow for a three-dimensional soundscape as well as the lack of parallel walls allowing “only pure and uninfluenced sound to emanate from the high-performance drivers”.
The cabinet is created using a thermoformed proprietary composite. This makes the advanced surface geometry and various internal chambers possible, resulting in characteristics that “allow for ideal acoustical properties”, according to Estelon.
Those drivers include a 26mm (1-inch) Scan-Speak Illuminator textile dome tweeter, Satori's 130mm (5-inch) mid-bass and 250mm (10-inch) Faital woofer.
The tweeter features a symmetrical drive motor that promises outstanding sound quality and linearity, regardless if the music is reproduced at high or low volume levels. Additionally, we are told that the tweeter waveguide has been fine-tuned to the driver and, along with the soft curves of the cabinet, eliminates the negative reflective impacts from the driver output. The upshot being the speaker's directivity is homogenous and wide.
The mid-woofer is by Satori and uses a proprietary Egyptian Papyrus Cone for “transparency and effortless sound delivery”. Meanwhile, the vented aerodynamic cast aluminium chassis provides optimum strength and low compression, says Estelon, adding that the driver features a soft, low-dampening rubber surround for the optimum transient response, and its neodymium motor system is optimised for low distortion. In addition, the Estonian-based company says the silver lead wires are attached 180° apart for improved stability.
Finally, bringing “articulate, deep bass” is the downward-firing 10-inch Faital woofer with a semi-pressed paper cone. Estelon tells us that the curved base plate's design and driver elevation from the floor allows the bass to propagate properly through the provided opening, even when the speaker is placed on thick carpeting.
Estelon's Aura floorstanding loudspeaker is available now priced at €17,500 and comes in white and black options and sports magnetic grilles.
