So, here's an update. At the time of this recording, my mage is at champion level 2126. I'm sitting at around 2.6M+ damage.

STATS & CHAMPION LEVEL

At higher champion levels, everything caps out in terms of what you can spend your points on. The only things that are "infinite" are power and haste. Power accounts for raw base damage. Haste equates to attacks per second.

However, haste (unlike power) hits "diminishing returns" after awhile.

I guess that makes sense, as the game's animations can only go so fast.

After doing some tweaking, I've attempted to balance my stats right at the edge of their respective diminishing returns.

● 6.5 attacks per second
● 45% crit chance
● 55% cooldown reduction

^ Once you reach that threshold, then each additional champion point (or jewel) put towards those stats will hit diminishing returns. This means that it's more efficient to go for power instead, as that still equates to raw damage.

WEAPONS & ARMOR

I would recommend the "apprentice" armor set. When wearing all six pieces, you get some good offensive and defensive bonuses. They drop pretty infrequently, but that is what I would focus on building towards.

My main weapon is a Deidre's Resolve. It's a sword that has a 10% chance to do an extra attack. I just so happened to get a lucky drop, and then maxed out the base damage by crafting a celestial orb.

My off-hand weapon is a Necronomicon. It's a tome that has a 27% chance to spawn a skeleton on-kill. It's not a great bonus, but it's the only unique off-hand tome. I obtained it through crafting, after many other lackluster attempts.

My cape is an Integralas Mantle. It has a 29% chance to yield an extra 96 ability rate, which can stack up to 5 times. This helps to reduce cooldown time on spells.
