Welcome to the Europa Universalis IV (EU4) Academy! The Academy is an in-depth video tutorial series aimed at helping more people enjoy one the best grand strategy games out there. EU4 is a grand strategy game developed by Paradox that allows you to play any nation on the globe between 1444 and 1821, shaping the fate of you nation.
It’s a complex game with lots of different mechanics, so to make this work the series aims to be as granular and focused as possible, which means that aside from the video’s topic not every mechanic we touch on can be fully explained. If you come across a game mechanic that you don’t understand, I recommend browsing the series playlist. Each video has a rating in the title, telling you if it is for beginners or advanced players.
Why am I qualified to teach others? There are a lot of great EU4 players out there, but with over 1300 hours in the game (almost exclusively on very hard difficulty) you’d probably agree that I have at least some experience with the game. I’ve also played EU4 continuously since release day, seeing it grow in depth and features with each patch and DLC.
