Evercade EXP Unboxing & Review | Much Improved Retro Handheld Gaming
Reviewing the Evercade EXP handheld retro gaming console, fresh for 2023 and packed with classic Capcom titles, plus an unboxing to see what you get. The Evercade EXP is a worthy upgrade over the original gamer, with new features like the TATE mode and Type-C USB, huzzah! This console looks and feels more grown up, with a better screen and 18 pre-loaded Capcom games to boost the value.
The Evercade EXP also comes bundled with the iREM Arcade 1 cartridge, plus hidden titles, giving you over 25 games to play in total. You'll need to pay extra for more cartridges, and build your collection.
Compared with other handheld gaming consoles I've reviewed, the Evercade EXP offers average battery life. I tend to get around 3.5 to 4 hours of hot retro thumb-knackering action from a full charge at most. There's no Bluetooth either, which is a shame.
Still, the Evercade EXP is a lot cheaper than a Switch or Steam Deck, I love the physical cartridges, and you can get some good collections (even if many of the options are a mixed bag).
