Everhood 2 is set in the same universe as the original Everhood but tells a new story. The game begins with the player answering questions that determine the appearance of their character. The protagonist, a light being, embarks on a journey after encountering Shade, the Root of All Evil. They are rescued by Raven, an anthropomorphic raven, who becomes their guide. The story explores themes of nihilism and the search for meaning, presenting a cryptic and layered narrative that challenges players to derive value from their experiences rather than seeking a traditional conclusion.
