Something I learned about when digging through the files of this game's demo builds is that The Final Card was likely originally going to be the last level of the game.
The UK PS2 demo does not have references to "red1final" which is the proper final level as we know it now and the US PS2 demo has early subtitles for this ending despite missing the rest from the newer final level.
This would also go on to explain why the ending FMV from the Alpha 53 build still has storyboards while most of the non-new level FMVs are mostly finished at that point.
