566In this horror gaming video we are playing a horror game called "My Friendly Neighborhood". Although this is classified as a horror game, its definitely not very scary. I would say what makes My Friendly Neighborhood a horror game is its premise of puppets taking over the broadcast system, the general tone of game featuring a few minimal jumpscares and most of all puzzles. This game has a tone of progression puzzles very similar to the franchise of Resident Evil. The puzzles in the game has you backtracking quite a bit which is extremely reminiscent of Resident Evil games. However, the puppets in my friendly neighborhood are not nearly as terrifying as the zombies in Resident Evil.
In My Friendly Neighborhood you play as Gordon, a repairman sent to dismantle a tv studio's satellite to stop the puppets from broadcasting over other TV shows and channels. However, you can not simply go up to the roof and complete your job. You must first make your way through 5 different areas, gaining access to each from by completely objectives before moving on. Overall this game was extremely unique and I had a great time playing my friendly neighborhood. I would certainly recommend My Friendly Neighborhood to anyone who has always wanted to try a horror game but too scared to play one. This is definitely a good entry level horror, keeping all scares to a much side.
