I'm a developer of 37 years and I work with the Unity & Unreal game engines. I can’t help but envision the underlying mechanics of software products I use like this game. For example, the map exploit take advantage of the use of room proximity for enemies to detect a noise rather than proximity of the noise from the enemy units themselves. In this case, the enemies hear the noise and react but their reactions are controlled by which room you’re in.
Exploits are unintended abilities resulting from developer bugs in their software or not thinking through the full impact of their design decisions and a fairly basic QA process.
With small development shops, Unity and Unreal engine development makes it real simple to throw something together with a ton of pretty graphics and very little else.
